The suburb of Rose Bay offers excellent views of Sydney’s harbour and surroundings, and was named after The Right Honourable George Rose, the joint secretary to the British Treasury with Thomas Steele.

Old and New South Head Roads, along with Plumber and Spencer Streets are popular real estate addresses and contain many sought-after properties. The main street of Rose Bay is distinguished by up market boutiques, bars, restaurants and shops. The neighbouring affluent Double Bay also provides residents with many shopping opportunities.

For private education there is Kambala in Rose Bay, aswell as Kincoppal a catholic school with a senior school for girls and co-educational school for junior pupils. Rose Bay public school and Rose Bay secondary college are also popular choices.

Residents can enjoy the parks of Dumaresq Reserve on Dumaresq road and Lyne Park on New South Head Road on the foreshore, which is also home to iconic Catalina Restaurant. Hermitage Reserve, which begins at the end of Bay View Hill Road in Rose Bay forms apart of Sydney’s Harbour National Park and is a pleasant foreshore walk from Rose Bay to Vaucluse.
